The Appointments screen is your view of the day. Everything books against a doctor's real open slots, so you never have to worry about double-booking or times outside clinic hours.
Booking an appointment
- Go to Appointments and start a new booking.
- Search for the patient (or add a new one).
- Choose the doctor.
- Pick a slot from the doctor's open times — a simple day-and-slot picker over the next couple of weeks. There's no free-text time box on purpose.
If a doctor has no slots, it usually means their availability isn't set up yet — ask them to add their working hours (see Availability & Google Calendar).
Moving through the day
Appointments carry a status as the visit progresses — scheduled, checked in, completed, no-show, or cancelled. Update the status as patients arrive and are seen, so the day's board stays accurate for everyone.
Editing and rescheduling
Open an appointment and choose Edit to change the doctor, slot, type, or reason. The patient stays fixed. When you reschedule, the current time stays selectable, and Nimo keeps the doctor's Google Calendar in step — moving the event, or re-homing it to a new doctor's calendar if you change the doctor.
Confirming patient requests
When a patient books themselves (via a booking link, see Walk-in & patient booking), the appointment arrives as a request. Confirm it like any other appointment and it becomes scheduled.
Good to know
- Appointment length follows the doctor's slot size — picking a slot sets both the start and the end.
- Times always show in your clinic's timezone, everywhere, so a slot chip and the saved appointment always agree.
- Every visit gets its own short number (like V-0042) as soon as it starts — you'll see it on the appointment, the day's schedule, and the patient's record, which makes a visit easy to reference on a call or a receipt.
