# Walk-in & patient booking

> Let patients register at the door with a QR, or book themselves with a link.

Nimo gives you two no-login ways to get patients into the system without typing
everything yourself: a **walk-in QR** for the front desk, and **booking links**
for patients to book remotely.

## Walk-in QR registration

Put up your practice's walk-in QR code (you can print it from Nimo). A patient
arriving at the clinic scans it and fills in a short form — name, date of birth,
mobile, and gender — registering themselves in seconds. No account, no password.

This is ideal for a busy reception: the queue fills in their own details while
you keep things moving.

## Booking links

A booking link lets a specific patient book an appointment with a chosen doctor,
from their own phone.

1. Open the patient's detail page and find the **Booking link** card.
2. Pick the doctor, then **Create booking link**.
3. Share it by **Copy** or **Send on WhatsApp**.

When the patient opens the link, they confirm their **date of birth** to prove
it's them, then pick a slot. The appointment arrives as a **request** for you to
confirm.

## Good to know

- **Booking links need a date of birth on file.** If the patient has no DOB
  recorded, the card is disabled — add their date of birth first.
- **Links are short-lived and single-use.** A booking link works for about two
  hours and for one booking; create a fresh one for the next appointment.
- **Five wrong date-of-birth tries lock a link**, which keeps a stranger from
  guessing their way in.
- These flows are additive — patients who have the full portal keep using it as
  before.
