# Pharmacy counter

> Dispense a visit's prescriptions, split what's out of stock, and collect payment — all from one screen.

If your practice stocks and dispenses medicines, Nimo gives the pharmacy its own
counter view — a single screen per visit for working through what the doctor
prescribed, without leaving anything half-tracked.

## The queue

Open **Pharmacy** and go to the **Dispense** tab. Visits appear in two groups:

- **To prepare** — visits with prescriptions the pharmacy hasn't actioned yet.
- **Ready — waiting for the patient** — visits you've finished preparing.

The queue refreshes on its own every few seconds, so it stays current as doctors
finish consults.

## Working through a visit

Open a visit from the queue and its prescriptions split into three groups:

- **Available in clinic** — set the quantity and price, then **Dispense**. If
  your shelf only covers part of what's prescribed, tick **"Shelf covers only
  part — patient buys the rest outside"** to split the line: one part dispensed
  and billed, one part sent to buy outside — each can be undone on its own.
- **Purchase outside** — items you don't stock. Marking these just records the
  decision; they're never added to the bill.
- **Done** — everything you've actioned, each with an **Undo** if you dispensed
  the wrong thing.

Need to add something the doctor didn't write up — an OTC item, or a medicine
they asked for verbally? Use **Add a medicine** to pick it from your catalog and
dispense it the same way. (Your practice owner turns this on; ask them if you
don't see it.)

## Marking an order ready

Once everything on a visit is actioned, tap **Order ready** — it tells the front
desk (and you) the patient can be called up. Tap it again (**Ready — undo**) if
you need to go back in.

## Payment and closing

The visit's card shows the pharmacy total alongside the whole bill, and a status
— **Paid**, **Partly paid**, **Due at checkout**, or **Nothing to collect**.

- If money is owed, **Collect payment** opens the same payment sheet the front
  desk uses for any bill.
- If nothing's owed and every line is actioned, **Close visit — nothing due**
  finishes the visit right from the counter — handy when a patient can skip the
  front desk entirely.

## Good to know

- Once the pharmacy has touched a prescription, the doctor can no longer edit or
  delete it from the note — they'll see a message explaining why.
- "Ready" is an internal pharmacy marker only — it never blocks or changes
  checkout.
