# Patient records

> Find patients, keep their details current, and see their visit history.

The Patients screen is your directory of everyone the practice sees. It's where
you add new patients, keep details up to date, and look back over a patient's
visits.

## Finding a patient

Use the search box on the Patients list to find someone by name. Type to filter —
the list narrows as you go.

## Adding and editing a patient

Add a new patient with their core details: name, date of birth, mobile, and
gender. Keeping these current matters for more than tidiness:

- **Date of birth** is what lets you create booking links and is the identity
check patients use to open them.
- **Mobile** is how you share links and reach the patient.

You can edit a patient's details any time from their detail page.

## A patient's history

Open a patient to see their profile and a timeline of visits. Each visit shows
its title and the vitals captured at the time, so you can give a doctor (or the
patient) quick context without digging.

## Good to know

- A patient registered at the door via the walk-in QR lands here automatically —
  no re-typing.
- Be mindful that patient details are sensitive. Share booking and lab links only
with the patient they belong to.
