> How Nimo drafts, titles, and summarises your visit notes — and how you stay in control.

Your visit note is a rich text document — the same comfortable writing surface
whether you type it, dictate it, or let Nimo draft it from a recording.

## Where notes come from

- **From a recording.** After you [record a visit](/help/doctors/record-a-visit),
  Nimo writes a draft summary into the note for you to refine.
- **By typing.** You can write or edit the note directly at any time.
- **By dictation.** Prefer to speak your note? Nimo can transcribe free dictation
  into the editor.

## Nimo titles and summarises for you

Once there's content, Nimo gives the visit a short, sensible title and a concise
summary, so your patient timeline is easy to scan later. These are suggestions —
the moment you edit the title or summary yourself, Nimo steps back and keeps your
version.

## Draft vs finalised

A note starts as a **draft** while you're still working on it. When the visit is
done and the note is right, **finalise** it to mark it complete. Patients can see
that a visit happened and its title, but the full clinical note stays with the
practice.

## Staying in control

Nimo never has the last word on your clinical record:

- Every draft is fully editable — rewrite anything.
- Your edits always win over Nimo's suggestions.
- The note is yours; Nimo just gets the first draft down so you're not staring at
  a blank page.

## Tips

- Record first, then tidy. The draft is usually 90% there — a few edits and
  you're done.
- Use the transcript drawer to check a detail you didn't capture in the summary.
- Finalise once you're confident; it keeps your timeline honest about what's
  complete.
